“Well looks like curiosity has gotten the best of me this time. Uh… What a PAIN!”, Jully said she sighed deeply as she walked through the mist-dense forest that seemed endless right before her tired eyes and body. She walked through the dense forest with whatever she had, as well as a great grin on her face that signified that she was not going to stop for anyone and nobody as if she didn’t want to get succumbed by someone, no, something in the deep dark forest covered with mist all over. “Oh well, this seems… pretty”, she said as she found herself now in front of a glistering lake that truly showed itself in the bright glimmer of the moonlight. The lake’s water had a flow that could be felt from afar and still as ever as if it was waiting for one’s touch to get disturbed and awakened. Jully being deductive and suspicious of everything as always, checked her surroundings clearly and thoughtfully. Of course, no pool of water would just pop out of a dark forest whenever and how so ever. She felt the peace that the place emitted differently from what the forest emitted. Calm, composure and clear view of everything, that seemed quite abnormal for a lake in the middle of a forest adverse of it. Jully’s friend had previously informed her insomniac friend about the forest that no one wanted to ever come nearby due to its old and weird urban legend presented to her by the local men and women. Especially before entering the forest, the elder of the locals of the place had warned her before entering the forest with a bit of a case study on that place. Jully however being one curious fellow, she never cared for anyone’s say and rather did no kind help to anyone in her entire life. She was just a loser and pitiful person that everyone around her thought of her.

Nevertheless, she never minded all those thoughts and comments about her, and well she never will. She lives and lives on living for herself only, the sole individual. *Noises in the bush* “Huh? What this sound?”, said Jully as she turned around to see and pierced her vision through the thick and dense bushes behind her. At first glance, she saw nothing more than the darkness that prevailed but once she turned on her dysfunctional flashlight, things changed, for the worse. What she saw was a tall 10 feet long… no 10-foot-long abomination of a creature that tried to lurk behind the thick bushes in the forest that she walked through right before. The creature creepily stood up, slowly and steadily, showing its white long scales, its terrible hinged back and a face that no human could bear to see. The abomination was true and real, just like the elder warned her about. Jully was petrified to her soul! She knew that one day her nonnonchalant behaviour would get the worse of her life, but today it really did. The girl now stood still with her shaking hands and legs, along with the flashlight that glowed over the ‘something’ in front of her. The green bushes and the white-scaled abomination never made a contrast due to the darkness but now that it had been revealed, she could see it clearly. A messed up face, a jaw that was ripped open with blood and saliva pouring out of it. Even though its jaw was ripped open, it seemed to smile… no… to grin like a true demon! Its grey wide eyes with no eyebrows, white scales, black fresh-blooded claws and open mouth truly focused on the one standing still in front of her was terrific. The lady knew that the creature meant more than harm and showed its true desire to eat her alive and whole. Jully took a step back. Now for her, it was the time of fight or flight. Of course, a 10-foot-long and 20-foot-tall creature stands more than a chance in front of a weak and feeble human like her. She knew, if she tried to fight it, it would just rip her whole body with the screams that would follow in the process. The only option she was left with now was to run for the sake of her mere survival and living. So, she did and ran like a maniac in the direction that left hers.

She ran and followed the trail into the deep dense forest. Jully was an expert map analyzer so she knew the ins and outs of the place better than most individuals in the locality for the comparison. She ran and ran and never thought if the creature was chasing her down like a rabbit being chased by a lion in a dense forest. She sooner than later comes out of the forest and runs back, not to her car but to the house of the elder in a way to ask for her help and care. *Door slammed open and shut* *Breathes heavily* “Ah! What a sigh of relief from… all the… running”, said Jully with each pause she could take for quick recovery of oxygen that she missed out while running to the elder’s house. Jully felt that now she was in the safe hands of the house that contained her on all four sides, making her unreachable for the monster and for the sake of her whereabouts. She took a seat on the dining chair in front of her. The house she was in was a medieval house that was built on the foundation of wood and stone in the forest that was placed a mile away from it. “So young lady, you have come”, said the elder as she walked down the flight of stairs of her house. The elder didn’t seem surprised at all and seemed as if she knew something like this would happen. She intentionally left the door unlocked for the young lady to rush inside. “Oh what a pity for a young beautiful child to now be covered with full of sweat, tears and true of, despair”, said the elder as she glanced over the young soul in front of her that kept trying her best to breathe properly.

“I’m really sorry… I didn’t take your kind words before and…. I saw it… the urban legend”, Jully said she broke her sentence with great emphasis on some words. The elder gave her a smile and laughed. “No worries Jully, you are now in the safe hands of this protector, *Gives her a glass of water* please take this and calm down”, she said trying to make Jully feel relaxed. “Thank you”, Jully said as she drank the water from the foggy glass, without taking a look at the glass itself. At the moment of calmness, a sudden thought flashed in Jully’s mind in a way that made her go into a deep flashback. Flashback:- “Er… the creature has also the ability to shapeshift and mimic people. Nevertheless, it is not a single creature but multiple small creatures combined into one. It lives and works in a hive. No one has yet seen its true identity but from the descriptions, it's just menacing. The only way to avoid this ability is… you don’t stand still in front of it for more than a minute”, said the elder as she had halted the young adventurous lady before. Present:- Jully looks up at the elder, now the demon that looked at her too with an eerie smile. It spoke in a coarse and heavy voice, a bit distorted, “I told you, you are safe… in… my… hands"
