The Music Box

Emilia was just 10 when she received a music box as a gift from her uncle. Her Uncle bought it from a museum in Hungary. She really liked the music box. The music which played was quite beautifully scary music. There was a couple that danced gracefully to that song. It was calming to see them dance together to that song. Emilia liked the music box so much that she stopped playing with her other toys. She would sit and stare at the couple all day dancing to the scary rhythm. Her parents got worried and took it away from her. She asked them why did they do that but they had nothing to say to her.

Emilia ran and shut herself in her room. She cried under her blankets for a while and then slowly drifted to sleep. Suddenly she was awoken by the music box's sweet and scary music. She looked around the room trying to find the source of the sound. But instead, in the dark, she saw a tall couple just standing. Behind them, she spotted the moonlight reflecting on the music box mirror which was now broken. Before she could speak, her room got chilly. The couple came forward and now she could see their faces. They looked just like the couple in the music box. The music box again started playing out of the blue. She was horror-struck by it suddenly playing, and so she started running towards her door. The couple followed her. Emilia struggled to open the door but it was jammed. She then turned back and frantically looked at the couple. The couple stared deep into her eyes and said, "Too late".
