The Pine Tree

Once upon a time deep in the forest, there were tall trees and among them, was the little pine tree who was the smallest and 'not so cared for' tree in the forest.

One day a fairy heard someone crying. She looked around and saw the little pine who cried, "Oh! nobody loves me, nobody cares about me, I'm not precious to anyone, I'm useless". The fairy said, "Little pine don't cry, I will grant you one wish. Tell me, what do you want to be? What would make you happy?". The pine replied, "I want leaves of gold and branches of gold too". "Ok then", said the fairy. Now the pine tree had golden leaves. Soon a woodcutter came and took all the golden leaves.

The pine started to cry. The fairy came again and asked, "What is it now?" The pine said, "I want leaves of glass, then nobody will take my leaves. But the same day, there was a strong wind that blew away all the glass.

"Oh, fairy give back my normal leaves. Please change me back to how I was", said the pine. The fairy did as requested. Now the pine was happy being himself.
