The Trap

The Sun is dying.

If this happens , the solar system will die too.

Earth cannot survive without it.

As per scientific calculation less than five hundred years are left before the sun would explode and disintegrate.

If the human race has to save itself, it has to leave earth .

Scientists have already discovered a sister planet.

But transporting the entire population seems a herculean task.

It is expensive and obviously not a fool proof plan.

So only the rich and the young can get a chance to avail this human rescue mission.

Sarah and Neil have decided to give this space expedition a chance.

Both are in their early twenties.

Both have enough savings.

And they plan to get married soon.

The spaceship carrying them will reach their new planet after fifteen earth years.

Till then the space ship will be their home.

Once it takes off there would be no looking back.

Sarah was a space scientist, from her childhood she dreamed of exploring the space learning about various possibilities , acquiring knowledge about celestial bodies. It had always fascinated her even as a little girl.

Neil was a banker , but he was a scifi writer too.

He had written about space travel, time travel and stories about alien civilizations.

He found it quite spectacular.

The spaceship would carry about five thousand such people.

These will be sent in an unconscious state, as they will reach the next planet they would be injected and they would regain consciousness.

Some of the astronauts who will be well trained

 will take care of everything inside the spaceship and remain active till it reaches there safely.

For two months they were given training and informed about the various aspects and stages of the space travel program.

Everything went as planned.

Minor glitches were taken care of.

The planet which was earth like was named Earth-- XES9.

The planet had its own unique flora and fauna.

It had atmosphere with optimum levels of Oxygen to sustain human lives.

The soil was bright blue in colour and the trees and foliage all yellow.

Sleep eluded Sarah . She felt anxious and kept thinking about her new life. The only relief was that Neil would be with her in all this.

Soon the day arrived when they had to finally leave their planet.

Upon entering the huge spaceship they had to lie in their space pods and would be injected to make them sleep cryogenically.

After that the space ship took off .

Everything was going as planned.

Sarah and Neil got up from their sleep in a few hours. They snooped to the cabin where the staff astronauts were having a meeting.

This whole plan had been hoax.

It was all a part of a very big scam.

Some aliens had promised them a huge amount of money and other resources to fool humans and send them to their planet for cross breeding.

Sarah and Neil were officers who had foiled their evil plan.

The spaceship was seized and returned to earth.
