“Our family was once the richest in the land. It had gold beyond anyone’s imagination. It was enough to provide generations upon generations of Vespers with money. But, mysteriously, one day the money was hidden. The head of the family knew that some Vespers were evil and greedy, and wouldn’t hesitate to steal the gold and use it for evil. So, the Council of Elders hid the treasure in a place where only the worthiest and purest Vespers could find it.”

”That is what we are looking for. These people that we hire, they are treasure hunters. They are known for being the smartest detectives on earth and they go to the attic, where a ring, filled with advanced technology, opens a portal into another world, another universe, in another multi-verse. It leads to the Fourth Dimension. No human has ever succeeded in going there. These treasure hunters, they see…well we don’t know what they see,” Their father glanced uneasily at their mother.

”But they come back scared and discouraged, and we have been trying to find the treasure for years. It is for the good of the world. It is a legend among us Vespers that the treasure holds the key to endless death and destruction, but, if used correctly its owner can use it for the good of the world. The treasure holds the key to a weapon that even our ancestors couldn’t find. This weapon is the most powerful in the world, it can destroy and create entire universes, in a split second.” “Cool!” James said. “No! Not cool! It is dangerous. You kids can’t understand the power it holds. “But we want to try and find it!” complained Claire. “No” their mother said firmly “We told you the legend, but you are not going in there”. The kids were very disappointed. They had wanted to be the wielders of this mysterious weapon. They didn’t say anything and went to their room. After some time, Claire made up her mind that she would go looking for the treasure. She would come back with it and make her parents proud, but she would first have to make them angry. She wrote a quick note explaining where she was going and started packing. Her brother saw her and asked what she was doing. Reluctantly, Claire told James her plan.

She would pack all the supplies she might need and at midnight was going to sneak to the attic. She would then find this mysterious ring and open the portal. She would face whatever terrors the Fourth Dimension contained and bring back the gold. James said that he wanted to come too, but Claire wanted to go alone. James pestered her the whole evening and finally Claire agreed to let him come with her. She tried to tell him it would be dangerous, but he was to excited to care. “We’re going to be real treasure hunters, on a real mission!!” He exclaimed. Claire sighed and went downstairs to eat her dinner. That night they both slept very early, surprising their parents. Usually they stayed up until 10:00 to play, but the siblings had no intentions of missing their adventure. Their parents thought that they must have been tired out and didn’t suspect anything. At midnight, Claire woke up to her alarm and woke James up as well. They took all the things they had stored in backpacks and opened the door to their room. Claire glanced back at her comfortable bed. Somehow she had a feeling that she wouldn’t be returning in a long time. “Goodbye.” she murmured as she led the way to the attic, and began their journey to the lost treasure.
