Walking up in the morning is an arduous task especially when it is a Monday morning. It was exactly 6:30 am when Kanika's mother Jaya made her first attempt to wake up her lazy little eleven-year-old princess. her daughter assured her to wake up. But after 15 minutes seen Kanika in the same position annoyed her. She pulled off her quilt and immediately ordered her to get up. She handed Kanika her favourite pink colour toothbrush. This was a regular day in Kanikas life, morning have never been pleasant on her. While brushing looking at the mirror she was wondering about how boring, uncomfortable and difficult her life was. Looking at her uniform hung in the bathroom she felt even more awful. She thought it was the worst combination anyone could have ever imagined.

Even worse was the reality that she had to wear it every day. She firmly believed that wearing the same boring dress every single day was killing students creativity, that was hampering the growth of their fashion sense. She opened the tap of hot water to fill the bucket and then was absorbed in her thoughts of deciding an appropriate outfit for school. With flowing water, her thoughts flowed from one direction to the other, but soon they were interrupted by the stern and berating voice of her mother. Kanika felt helpless. on the dining table her mother handed her the glass of milk and served her the breakfast. With the glass of milk, she was only swallowing her bread while her mother was doing her hairs. She had absolutely no intention to make efforts to appreciate her mother's hard work in making her favorite food. Waking up early in the morning, dressing up in that ugly uniform, forced breakfast and the worst part was going to school. She hated every bit of this. This is the reason she was mostly annoyed and irritated.

Kanika was accompanied by her friends Sherya and Mansi. Three not only lived in the same society but were classmates also. Moreover shared similar thoughts, dreams, and aspirations. They cursed themselves for not have been born with a silver spoon. Kanika had no interest in studying, sports, dancing, music, art, writing or any other field. All she liked was social networking sites. The three played a secret game of rating people on the basis of their dressing sense as if their opinion mattered to anyone else. Somehow the boring day ended at the school. It was time to go back home.On their way to bus-stand, they met a group of small children begging.

They were similar to the beggars we find anywhere in the country, torn clothes, no slippers and in the most terrible condition we could have imagined. Seeing Kanika and her gang buying eatables children started following them. The poor little hungry children demanded something to eat and girls made their best efforts to ignore them. but children did not stop and continued to them inside their bus. At this moment Kanika could take it no more her patience ended and she screamed badly at the small boy who was standing closest to her. Even now when the boy refused to listen she badly pushed him backward. Least bothered about him Kanika went ahead finding an appropriate seat. Scared children gave up their efforts and hope of getting something. By chance, children were supposed to travel on the same bus and they got a seat just behind Kanika and her friends.

On a regular day it took half an hour for Kanika to reach her destination but that day there was a huge traffic jam on the road.Everyone was irritated except this group of children who enjoyed looking at different cars. With passing time passengers patience was running out. Their anger and irritation were increasing every moment. Kanika was feeling all the more restless as she was thirsty. She already knew that no one of them had water but still asked and was left disappointed. Her anger and irritation slowly turned into sadness and disappointment.

She stopped complaining and was hopelessly staring out of the window when a hand offering her a small plastic bottle with a little water in it. This was the same boy whom she had pushed badly. Seeing this she about to burst in tears. Irrespective of her arrogant behavior the boy was offering her the greatest help. She deeply regretted her behaviour and politely said, "But you might need it later". The boy smiled and said, "You need it more than me now. Take it." and handed her that bottle. Surprised by his kind and self-less behaviour she thanked the little boy after taking two sips of water. Kanika was highly impressed by the poor little-unprivileged boy who had heart of gold.
