Unconditional Love Of A Father

Once upon a time there used to live a family of three- a father, Suresh; a mother, Sanjana and a daughter Anjali, who was in studying then in class 8th. She is not good as well as uninterested in studies. She secures less marks in most of the subjects. Suresh keeps scolding her for this. Anjali likes to play a lot; she plays whole day and uses her electronic gadgets. Sanjana, her mother was worried regarding her daughter’s future.

One day, Suresh slapped Anjali for not preparing for her next day’s exam. The latter started crying, ran and locked herself inside the room. He thought for sure that Anjali won’t focus on her next exam and will fail tomorrow. But, Anjali was in deep thinking and picked up physics book, her father’s favourite subject. She intensely studied entire evening till late night and then got up early to complete her preparation and now she was quite confident of her examination. On her return, she was visibly very satisfied and ecstatic with her performance. To her amaze, she got the marks same day, she had secured top marks in her class. She was the happiest person around. Suresh wasn’t aware of this. Anjali wanted to thank her father by giving him a thankful letter and buying a chocolate ice-cream for her father. After reaching home, she heard a conversation between Suresh and Sanjana. The former suggesting to send Anjali to a boarding school. Upon hearing this, she got very upset and broke into tears. Her parents saw Anjali crying, as soon as she saw her parents, she wiped her tears so as to hide her emotions, she gave them the gifts and immediately ran towards terrace.

Suresh read the letter but couldn’t believe it, he was amazed and his eyes became wet with happiness. In order to console her, he followed her to the terrace. Suresh found Anjali sitting in a lonely corner, covering her face with both hands and sobbing. He asked Anjali forgiveness for slapping her and not understanding her feelings. He was proud seeing his daughter becoming the topper of the class. While they both were coming down from terrace, Suresh’s slipped and toppled down from the terrace. He was bleeding. Anjali screamed, shouted calling for her mother. Mother was shocked to hear her daughter’s scream. She rushed to the terrace and found Suresh in pool of blood. They somehow managed to get emergency number to call for ambulance. Every minute was becoming very long till they reached hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, emergency staff rushed towards the ambulance to fetch Suresh. Soon doctors were seen around him. Nurses, ward boys were rushing in and out of the room, everyone was looking in hurry. Sanjana and Anjali were standing beside bed, they were still in state of disbelief. Their eyes were looking at doctor and then Suresh as if asking many questions but doctors were busy in their work. They asked Sanjana and Anjali to wait outside the room. Initially, they resisted but then doctors requested them with assurance that Suresh will be alright soon. After few minutes, one junior doctor came out to let them know of Suresh’s condition. He said, Suresh will be alright but they will have to do small surgical procedure immediately. Although bleeding had stopped but they wanted to operate upon Suresh because of internal injury.

Doctor asked Sanjana to arrange for around 50 thousand immediately. Hearing this, Sanjana got worried because she only had 30 thousand. Where she will find remaining 20? Anjali was quiet and listening to this conversation. She could see her mother in worried state. She instantly made her up mind to do something, borrow from someone or to work part-time in restaurants or sell newspapers, grocery etc. Sanjana too was in her mind thinking of ways to arrange money. She also made her mind to sell her jewellery. By hardship and efforts, they could manage balance 20 thousand. They were relieved after depositing 50 thousand. Soon, doctors operated upon Suresh. Procedure lasted for more than 45 minutes. Doctor confirmed Suresh is fine now but in semiconscious state. Soon after doctor left, Suresh started to come in senses and he was brought to his private room. Suresh started regaining his conscience and he saw Sanjana and Anjali near his head. They were looking anxious. All started crying but in happiness. Suresh couldn’t control his feelings and he too was in tears. Anjali promised him that now she would listen to him and study with full dedication and focus. Years passed by, and now she is a very famous journalist. Her parents take pride talking about Anjali. Anjali feels grateful to god almighty and thanked parents for everything, sacrifices they have done in making her a successful person. She touched his feet, asked for blessings. Today they stay together, now Anjali is planning for her bright future.
