Minu a small girl of age 4 years when to the school with her mother. Her mother dropped her and went to her work place.

Minu's first day in preparatory class. All the children were welcomed to their class. There were twenty students in the class. The teacher was very happy to see the children after the covid pandemic.  Children were happy but few were sad to leave their home and their mother.

The teacher wished everyone good morning and started with the attendance. All responded nicely " yes mam". The teacher then asked what you did at home during the long holidays. All were telling their experiences in their mother tongue ie Bengali. Only Minu was silent. She didn't speak a word. The teacher didn't understand what was wrong. She asked her several times but she kept quite.

Then the teacher Miss Sandhya entered the class. All children welcomed her. She then started to ask " Who will listen to stories?". All screamed yes!. But Minu was again silent.  Miss Sandhya asked "Minu you are not interested to listen to stories?" She kept quite. The teacher started with the story. She asked " Did everyone see the full moon during Purnima" , all said yes. She said the colour of the moon appears to be like water and ice. So let us all visit the moon. All children were excited to visit the moon. Miss Sandhya asked how will we go to the Moon. It's so far. Few of them answered " in a rocket" . But the teacher said " we don't have so much money. " We can have a free ride if we call our favourite Santa Claus. All the children said yes, yes. Christmas is around the corner and we can call Santa Claus.  He has a sledge, a reindeer is helping to pull the sledge forward. The sledge is made of wood and in few minutes we will be moving towards the moon. Santa knows magic "Isn't it children " ", , the teacher enquired, . All said" yes mam".

The teacher said " now children imagine Santa is in our class with his sledge and we are in the sledge and moving to the moon.  See the moon is so near. We can touch it. its so cold. Made of Ice. See children inside the moon we can see a house. Let us go inside the house. Children shouted " yes mam". The teacher said you know who is inside the ice house. No mam.  The teacher replied there is a old women sitting with long white hairs. Do you know who is this. No one answered. Then after a while Minu shouted " yes I know that old women will long white hair is my grandmother ". All were astonished to here few words from Minu because half the day she was silent. Then Miss Sandhya said "very right Minu it is your grandma ". Why she is there. Let us ask her. Grandma why are you here. She replied, my son kept me here. He said he will come after sometime but it has been so many years. But he never returned. Then listening these words the children said " grandma is sad, she didn't see her son for a long time. " Miss Sandhya said ' how can we make her happy ?. We will request Santa Claus to be her lost son and bring her back to earth her home from the moon. " All children shouted "Yes Santa can do it".

Miss Sandhya then said "Santa Sir please help us and Grandma to go back to her home and you become her list son. Santa then said" ho, ho , ho, ho, ho ho. mothet I am your son, i was searching for you all around and at last i found you in the Moon. So please come with me and the children, we will go back home. Yes said grandma. All then boarded the sledge and returned back to earth and grandma to her home. Now children say thank you to Santa Clus. All the children shouted Thank you Santa Thank you very much. Bye bye.

Then Miss Sandhya said we all completed our mission and brought grandma home with the help of Santa. She then asked who has their grandma or grandpa at home. Few raised their hand. Then Minu started

To say, " I also had grandma at home but last month my father took her to our village home and I am all alone at home after school. Only with my maid. I dont like her. She doesn't know any stories.  My grandmother told me lots of stories about the village, grandpa and my uncles. I wanted my grandmother to stay with us. But my father took her to the village. And so I am very sad and alone. She was my only friend. I miss her. I love her very much. She is also very lonely after grandpa passed away last year. "

Then Miss Sandhya said no need to be sad. Diwali is coming so you can visit your grandma during holidays, tell your father. Yes children those who have grandparents at home they are lucky to have a friend. And during lockdown for covid we got a chance to stay with our families so nicely , spending time with each other. Now again all are busy in their own way. But you all need not worry. Those whose grandparents are far away you can visit them during puja vacations, Diwali or in Summer vacation. At least visit them once a year. Really they are eager to meet their children and grandchildren. You all insist your parents to take you ar to bring them to your home. This is the most tender and beautiful relation - grandparents and grandchildren.  Really they are the best friends.  One becomes a support to another. Lovely children and lovely class. The values which our grandparents teach us is really valuable.  Every story they say has a beautiful lesson and moral. Miss Sandhya also said , She too miss her grandmother very much. Then the class was over. After tiffin Minu was allowed to go home. Returning home she became sad. She was again missing her grandmother who used to feed her. Now she is eating her food all alone supervised by her maid.
