His phone was connected to the Bluetooth speaker.

While he was driving, I was sitting at the rear seat and heard the conversation.

A lady told him to buy some baby food.

After a while he asked me : “Sir would you please sit for a few minutes inside the car? There's a pharmacy, I'll just go, buy something and come back in 5 minutes.”

I wasn't in any hurry.

“Ok.”, I said.

He came back after some 5 minutes.

“You have a baby?”, I asked him.

“Yes sir. My wife died when she gave birth to our daughter. That's why I have to do this baby shopping and all.”

For a moment, I couldn't utter a word. I didn't find any word to say to him.

He continued - “She is 4 months old. My mother lives with me, she takes care of my daughter.”

“Bohot koshish ki thi sir, bacha nahi paya biwi ko.” (Tried a lot sir, still couldn't save my wife)

"Who meri duniya ka Rani thi, lekin shayd mein uski duniya ka kaal tha, isliye woh meri duniya chorke chali gyi, humesha ke liye"

He got emotional, while I was numb, thinking what to say!

“Reached your destination sir.”, He said.

“Take care of your daughter.”

I bid him goodbye, with a fake smile.

He smiled back - the pain of losing his wife was hiding behind his smile.
