The Saga Of Rearing
The Saga Of Rearing
I was a free bird all the time
With a broad smile
And tones of pranks in mind.
Never did I ever thought
That time would change such that
What I played with a delighted heart
Is a nagging feel on whom it is played.
As a prank, I never had the wildest
Dream of it ever in my mind
But when I became a parent
And my children played the same
Prank on me, it really irritates.
And that was the time
I first realized that joke is
Not always appreciable.
But still to give a smile
And lead my child
On the path that is right
Is the real craft of nurturing.
At times it was difficult to convince
But parents are to be such incredible
That before the child crafts his work
They are there with a suitable answer.
I happened to be quite a strick
But that was of no use
In front of little beings
Whose innocent smile
Steels everything within you.
So finally to lead him right
I chose the path so bright
To unite with him
In the childish form, he is.
To downsize me
From adult to the child was challenging
But the one who does it
Never lose their child
To this crafty world malign.
And today when my child says,
It's great to have you as my parent
My chest elongates with boast
That I finally made it finish line.
