Cricket; Not A Game

Eleven players all set to play,

They are dressed in blue without delay.

When they come out to play with pride we all get placed in front of the screen,

For excitement we thrive.

A game of valour, 

A game of pride,

Nation gets clung to their seats,

When they are on strike.

Now when batsman makes a century,

Eyes are filled with pride,

But when he gets caught,

We clasped our fists,

As if we lost a warrior in a fight.

Spinners, Pacers all have their part to play

They have to restrict the run rate,

And dismiss the batsman,

Before it is delay.

When player is in form 

He will hit the boundaries,

All over the field.

Some are good at straight drive,

Some are good at reverse sweep.

Umpires are to judge,

Fielders are to chase.

Decision of third empire is final,

If there is confusion in case

Full of amusement, full of passion,

Full of splendor, full of compassion.

Admired by all, it is an addiction.

It makes you nostalgic,

It is full of feelings and emotion.

Victory and defeat,

Are two sides of a coin.

Players from different countries,

Players for different cultures,

Unite together to play the game.

It brings them together, in spite of all diversities,
