The Haunted Estate

Once upon a time what was a lovely place,

Now was known as the haunted estate!

Such was the state of the bungalow in town,

Which would make every passerby frown!

Laden with dust and filled with webs,

Broken window panes and rusted beds.

All the charm lost from wooden doors,

Grey dust and papers lay on the marble floor.

Weird noises were often heard from there,

To go and investigate, no one could dare!

Many claimed to have seen some light,

Some said they had heard someone fight.

Nobody knew if anything was true,

Everyone was without any clue.

It was a rumour that somebody was killed,

And that his grave was never built.

People said the soul was desperate,

Some said it was a plan to keep the estate.

As wind blew the windows squeaked,

The roof rattled and tiles leaked.

The rotten doors made a howling sound,

Scaring anyone prowling around.

As the sun set, the folks hurried home,

All were scared to go out and roam.

Every disowned house has a story to tell,

Once a charming mansion, now rotting like hell!
