Nature's Lament
Nature's Lament
Mother Earth shudders and weeps, as
She sees her beloved trees tremble and fall
Leaving in its wake a sorrowful trail of destruction
For children of the next generation.
The forest cover diminishes day by day
Virtually giving a bewildering shock,
Where are the scents and sounds hidden in nature’s wealth,
That marked our joyful trysts with freedom and flock.
Do we need a second reminder?
Is Global warming not enough?
To declare our love and hold our earth in a loving clasp
As our lives rise and ebb like the flow of the river.
The future is in your hand, my friend,
Take it or leave it, or try to ways amend
And show the strong will to transcend
All hurdles and the earth befriend.
