Brew Of Compassion
Brew Of Compassion
When young, I was disciplined with kindness
Taught compassion by those who love
When asked questions, I always confessed
And now I am, pure and guiltless as a dove
When I did wrong, people helped me get it right
When I veered off course, they guided my hands
When it got dark, they turned on the headlights
And veered the steering wheel, away from puddles and sand
I have known kindness; I found it delicious
And now I spread morsels across the town
I teach them how to cook the brew of compassion
In hopes that they will spread it around
