A friend's success reflects with happiness shining in your eyes, 

As the friend swallows your tears with reassuring smiles.  

That's a friend whose heart quips for you, best among rest,

Bonding beyond measure, a friend for life shall manifest. 

Like wind water, sun and sky, when two friends get together,

Dreams no longer a secret, wish best for each other. 

Krishna and Sudama's is celebrated with pride,

Between Karna and Bhanumati there was nothing to hide.

Damon and Pythias was indeed a legend,

Drona - Drupad, their ties too in the same breath is mentioned. 

Sita and Trijatha, Hunters of Artemis, a bond so unconventional,

They proved in providential friendships, not always intentional; 

To seek revenge against Pandavas, Karna was a good find, 

Befriending by crowning him, Duryodhana had an axe to grind.

The daily facade of friendship in a polity, not an obscure fact,  

Pulling wool over mass' eyes, sealing a convenient pact. 

Best friendship is based on trust, guided by great affection,  

Such a relationship can never bring with it, ill-will or destruction. 

Challenge lies not as much in finding but being one, 

One's role too requires, to be the best chum winsome.
