Destiny's Child
Destiny's Child
I sit by the pillars of my fort,
Guarding the gate.
No one can enter by force,
I have too much to save.
Can you see,
The kingdom's glory?
Behind the fortress,
Lie the birds,
The butterflies,
The castle that may blind your eyes.
Tread carefully trespasser,
You come with wings of dreams,
Ready to breach the fort,
In the walls the archer's draw,
And fire burns from the dragon's mouth,
Why would you risk your peace?
When even Hercules wouldn't fight for this fleece.
There remains no need,
For you to try,
But I see your eyes,
They gleam with pride,
Your wings flutter once or twice,
Instead of asking me to open the gates,
You offer yourself to our kingdom's secrets,
I believe that prophecies might be true,
After all, guarding the gates,
I sit, I am your fate,
All you want to do is know the truth
So destiny's child might be you.
