He left.

An apology and a hug.

Enough to walk away from my life

 

It was like he was dead,

He was the one never to be spoken about.

Because my father committed a crime.

Is following your heart a crime?

 

He left,

Because he was too afraid,

To fight for what he believed. 

 

But I will still remember him

Remember the little things he did

Remember all those books he bought me

Remember all those secrets we shared,

Under my covers

 

But I believed he would come back for me
