Searching For Paradise

Searching For Paradise

Afraid of dark,

But still she wanted to leave a mark

For all those little girls who needed hope

So that instead of drowning they can be brave to catch a rope.

The nights are still haunted,

Since the day of her 8th birthday when she was branded.

Then, she couldn’t run away from the monster fast,

Now, she couldn’t hide from the ghost of her past.

One day, when she ran away in her nightmare,

She escaped to clouds searching for paradise here and there.

Stopping she saw things like playing cards and umbrellas were scattered lying around,

Trapped there she tried hard to understand what was supposed to be found.

Historically, Number Eight was associated with Saturn – father, embodiment of evil,

Which was true for her as her protector has become the devil.

Scattered umbrellas flown by storm maybe depicting the wishful dreams

That has been shattered and caged in her heart

As time passed she thought maybe she needed to accept

That this is her fate of which she is just playing the part

A sudden realization clarified the picture,

Drove this dream of present as a way to her future.

Eight of spades representing birth card,

Intended her to be the queen of her new life breaking the chain,

Umbrellas may ask her to open her heart to regain the control, protecting her from pain.

She woke up with a start sweating profusely,

A ray of light coming through window illuminating her soul to stop being cowardly.

After 8 years of captivity she left that day and never looked behind,

Still she had dreams of that man but now she was not confined.

Today In the Grand opening of "Paradise" for lots of women like her,

She stood in front of thousands of people giving her a cheer.

Feeling grateful for this opportunity given,

She felt like holding an umbrella for many, who needed to be protected from rain.

Watchingsome women with scared dark eyes filled with laughter today,

Remindedher of the dream she had ten years ago

When she was still searching for paradiseevery day.

Now she wanted to make this shelter home, a “Paradise” for those

Wandering in search of peace and purpose.
