On your mark, ready, get set, go,

The great dance of democracy is in full flow

Thronging the centers, the numbers grow

Of Indians everywhere proud of their show.

The first time voter loves to linger

As he has proudly inked his finger

The grand old voter is greatly enthused

He casts his vote with growing cheer.

Result day dawns, the excitement is palpable,

As everyone wonders who will be capable

Of giving the numbers, that makes your mind boggle,

A stupendous victory versus a total struggle.

One party is despondent while the other exults,

As Opinion poll, Exit poll and the final results

Point to the emergence of the resurgent cult

Of a man who leaves his imprint on people’s heart

It is India’s victory, and people’s mandate

That draws the next plan on a brand new slate.
