A Dream Or A Nightmare
A Dream Or A Nightmare
I am sitting on the seat of life
Closing my eyes to strife,
To sickness, to grief
All in a moment brief.
My mind is afloat with thought
Meandering the path fraught
With weary battles fought
Against floods and drought.
Then the dreams begin
Of an angel holding hands open
To wring my soul within
Its clasp and rise to heaven.
But its hands halt far between
And my mind wonders, ‘is this akin
To a dream or a nightmare
Or a new fearful thought to share?’
