Family Love

We grew up holding hands of our parents,

From the first steps we took to

To walking with them to school,

We grew up in their guidance,

As they led us to the right path,

guided us to where we need to go,

So we never fall apart,

Our parents were our shields

Who would protect us from any harm,

They were there to help us every time

Whenever we asked them for it,

We grew up to be adults

Dealing with responsibilities like never before,

Dealing with challenges and obstacles every day,

Failing to realize we were not able to

Communicate with our parents

The same way as before,

In the midst of this chaos

We had less time to take care of them,

Less time to talk,

When all they needed was just our presence

And that's all,

But why do some of us think

That we cannot take care of them?

Why would we think of them as a burden,

When they never thought about us the same way?

Is it necessary to search for a facility

To take care of them?

Isn't it our duty to protect them

For the remaining days of their lives?

Doesn't their happiness count like ours?

As all they needed was to be loved and protected,

Like how we were when they took care of us.....
