This is a story of an introvert, shy, and very strong-willed girl named Rhea. She was a girl who grew up in a foster house where she never knows her father's name whereas her mother was someone who used to sell herself in order to earn a livelihood and giving her daughter a better future by fulfilling her dreams. Rhea dreamed of becoming a successful banker because she was so sharp in Mathematics and managing finance. Soon, Rhea was a grownup teenager and now she used to understand every bit of her life, and henceforth she could not digest the fact that her mother was a prostitute just to give her education. She denied her mother convincing her that she herself would do something to get employed but her mother refused her concern and asked her to go and study.

Meanwhile, Rhea was growing to become an adult her mother was cured with a tumor in her head and was at her last stage and so there was no possible cure or treatment that she could undergo. So, her mother forcefully married her to the first man that she met who was 5 years older than Rhea.

The man's name was Sudeep. He was a person who treated the woman as an object and hence every woman that he was humiliated and tortured by him. In the next few weeks, Rhea got married to Sudeep moved to Mumbai also known as 'City of Dreams' after that she never saw her mother because she wasn't allowed. Rhea had heard countless stories about these cities where people move in to pursue their ambitions and become successful amidst all those processes going on in mind she determined to complete her education which came to halt because of her mother's disease and her stubborn wishes of her getting married.

After her advent in Mumbai Sudeep took Rhea to his house where she met came to know about his family. His family included his father, mother and his elder sister who was already married was present there on a flying visit. They gave her a warm welcome since it was her first day. But on the very next day, the real faces of her in-laws came to light. Her in-laws started treating her like a servant. They used to beat and torture and abuse her in the name of her mother for not doing the household chores. She wasn't allowed to sleep in the bedroom. She was asked to sleep in the kitchen. All her mother's savings were taken by her in-laws making her penny less. She was scared that she never tried to tell anyone about her aspirations and also never staunched to go against her in-laws and husband. Years passed by but there was no sign of hope for Rhea.

One fine day, Rhea went to a market where she met an old friend named Sunaina. They both went to a nearby cafe for a coffee. Initially, Rhea acted but eventually, she couldn't control broke up in front of her and opened her heart. Sunaina helped Rhea to get out of the living hell by filing a petition against her in-laws and husband which she eventually won in the sessions court. Rhea could complete her education as well as rent a house by the amount she got back as alimony combined with all the savings of her mother and henceforth every dream of her was fulfilled. Rhea now felt the real feeling of freedom and liberation. Finally,

"She could overcome everything that was meant to destroy her."

As a part of the conclusion, few of the rituals and superstitions which were followed back are still followed by few families due to lack of literacy and basic understanding but back then women were never so strong to raise a voice but now due to arrival of modernization women are helping each other. Obviously, there are few issues in our country which are a matter of serious concern like rapes, gender equality, etc. Just as there are two sides of each coin in the same way women back then and now are different in a few ways. Majorly, women can do anything if their will is strong. These are the free women of #freeIndia.
