Caught Red Handed

This event will remain in my memory forever. A MNC had called for an interview. They wanted someone who can code both in C++ and C#. It was not my area of expertise. I am a Java and Python expert. Just to have an interview experience, I thought of going to it. The offer was too good to resist.

I knew the basics of C++ and C#. I prepared for two days to refresh my knowledge and went to the interview.

The first guy came to interview me, his name was Ajay he was an expert in C++ but knew nothing about C#. So he asked many questions in C++. I answered, a few of them. Whenever I did not know a particular concept, I would say, I have done this in C#. I 100% knew that this guy did not know about it. So he was agreeing.

He left the room and a girl Akansha, who was an expert in C# came for the second round. Now she did not know much about C++. I answered what I knew and for the rest, I told I have done it in another programming language, not this. She was very impressed by my answers. But since I said, I was an expert in the other programming language she asked me only a few questions in her expertise.

My performance was good and in my mind, I was laughing. 

Third round again the first guy came. I was smiling. In mind I was thinking, "Come, dear. I know everything in that programming language, which you don't know". 

He again started asking questions. While answering them I got a big shock.

Suddenly the girl Akansha, my second round interviewer came and sat in the interview room. She might be curious to know how expert I was. Now I was caught red-handed. Both the experts were in one place and I could not claim anything now.

I tried my best to answer a few questions and in some case confuse the interviewer. But the way I was answering in the third round, Akashanka got to know I had fooled her in second round and Ajay in first.

Finally, the interview was over. Both the interviewers left the room. Before going, Akansha came back to me. She smiled and said, "Well played. I mean well answered".

 I was a bit embarrassed. I gathered the courage, to smile back at her and replied, "I tried my best".

Surprisingly to me, a week after the interview, I received the job offer.
