I literally dragged myself to open the door at a wee hour of the night. He stood there exhausted and lost. As he strode past me I sensed something. He was silent for a few minutes and then he blurted it out. He had quit his job. The mystery was solved and I took it while keeping silent. He went inside, I got a message alert. It read " Your resignation is accepted. Good luck with future endeavors"
