Father & Son

Robin signed the necessary documents, bid adieu to William and left. One of the attendants guided William to his room. There, waves of memories flooded the lonely soul.

His wife Sandra had died untimely. Robin, their son was barely one. "You need a wife, and he needs a mom. Marry again," suggested everyone. He had disagreed. Rather, he had played both the roles.

He had taught Robin to walk. Clutching his fingers, when little Robin would walk wearing the chuchu shoes making a sound at every step, it would seem music to his ears. Soon, school shoes replaced those baby shoes. It was time to coach Robin football. As Robin reached adolescence, first love and heartbreak followed. Like a good friend, William had listened to him and consoled. When Robin bagged a job in a reputed firm, William was the first one to holler in joy.

Time went by. Marriage, kids... space in Robin's life had narrowed, and he felt overcrowded. Sending Willam to an old age home seemed to him the best option available. 

William had built that house decades ago. There, he and Sandra had started their family. However, aged William wasn't allowed in that house anymore. "Oh, how do I stop reliving these memories galore? May you never end up here Robin," William broke into tears in his new abode.
