We all know that June is the month dedicated to LGBTQ+ voices thus called Pride Month. But do you know why we have a month dedicated to the community?
Back in 1969 (June), the United States witnessed huge riots and clashes between the police and gay rights activists. To commemorate this event also known as the Stonewall riots, President Bill Clinton declared June "Gay & Lesbian Pride Month". President Joe Biden declared June LGBTQ+ Pride Month in 2021.
Since then LGBTQ+ community has faced a lot of struggles and challenges. However, it has also witnessed a lot of wins and successes. This pride month, we at StoryMirror have taken up the humongous task of spreading all the success stories of LGBTQ+ community to the whole wide world! Come help us out, will you?
StoryMirror presents #WriteWithPride, a writing contest that celebrates love, acceptance, and empathy for all, with no exceptions.
You can write your own success stories or that of someone you know. Let's see how mighty the pen can be.
