A Better Tomorrow
A Better Tomorrow
I wake up with a smile and a happy heart,
I step out in the world and the judgments start,
I look at myself and like what I see,
I don't understand why they can't let me be
What I've achieved and what I've become,
Has NOTHING to do with the size of my BUM,
I want to be known for the good that I do,
But the shape of my body troubles a few
I want to be heard, not having to scream,
The world needs to know, how their words can seem,
Every little jibe, and every little laugh,
Destroys my confidence and cuts me in half
Words seem small when hurled without thought,
But they carry the weight of the grief that they brought,
I am what I am, proud and content,
I don't need your remarks or what they intend
I deserve to live in a world without hate,
No one but me gets to decide my fate,
I can handle anything you dish out at me,
I will show the world what change can be
