A Mere Fantasy

A Mere Fantasy

Hands grasp streaming cup of coffee,

And some gifts unwrapped lay on lap,

Hairs fling upon sleeves of newly knitted sweater,

Midnight magic smile on plump lips ,

Eyes noticed the stains of hot chocolate on white beard but he didn't realised the mess,

Dressed up in red he kept jingling with the carols sung by.

He clarified he love to ate both veg and non veg but he did made an excuse that he couldn't drink for the reason he had to reach to children's home,

Although I knew he lied because I found his golden sleigh empty as I saw it when closing the heavy curtains,

It's okay I said to myself and went to bake some more hazelnut muffins for him,

The smell of wine test his patience but failed badly for he was on a break from alcohol,

The glitters of the fairy lights shone up breaking the cold horizon,

Smokes fades in the showers of snows.

A winter dance with him amidst the freezing brunch afternoon,

Holding his gloved hands rejoicing until evening,

Pointless fights and unreasonable conversations on the bed of snow,

Diving into the stories sitting by his side,

Finally the moment came he bid adieu and left with his sleigh,

A lunch invitation to him was my mere fantasy that I wish which shouldn't end.
