A Recollection

A Recollection

Today all alone among the ruins of the past,

I thought of you and our meeting by chance.

All we said flashed back from memories so vast,

The days I recall when even the woods were in romance.

When stars were on the ground and hope was not bound.

Every little thing we did or missed by chance.

Was so full of life and love was all around.

All seemed right and we wanted our bond to enhance.

How all those have changed and now all is not green.

The old craze is gone and life has lost much of its sheen.

We were already on a mountain and wanted to be on a cloud.

Now we are back to earth and the music isn’t any loud.

How many mansions since then have been on the rise?

For me, the most precious thing is still your two blue eyes.

I think what if I am a few more years older.

Thank God to lean on there will still be your same shoulder.
