Always
Always
Always a 'Hi' there is, to begin with, then a pause to see if ye connect,
Your earnest waiting, he reciprocating, talking daily then gradually follow.
All goes well until one fine day when he sits back and register,
Without the hurt, the heart is hollow.
You wanted to talk your agony out, you wanted a friend so unreal,
Having him hand his heart out to you, you ended up having his soul.
Unalarmed to the consequence, never trying to decipher the mystery,
Though you only wanted a piece, he instinctively gave you his whole
Your calming presence dispersed in the blink of an eye,
Leaving him reeling with emotions thereafter.
Chaotic he became with nothing much to hold on to,
If not for the memories unprocessed, he managed to survive by a whisker.
With years gone by, his heart and mind decided to call a truce,
He moved on, though only in his feet,
You, however, may find his essence exactly where you eclipsed.
Despite all, he still stands firm on his choice even now,
The promise of support with emotions unmixed.
He knew that you always looked out for a James Potter,
Unthoughtful of the Snape, who vehemently wants to wait for nights and days.
'After all this time?' when asked by anyone,
He invariably wants to reply with an 'Always'.
