An Able Maid

6 am the clock stuck at,

Wake up dadi mom's not well.

Rushed into the bedroom,

Touched her forehead.

It's all a drama to stay away from work,

Dadi shouted like a hell.

Younger me was out of this feeling,

Mom was unwell and alone dealing.

Being sick, mom did her work,

Not a single day went, that dadi didn't curse.

Day by day she was being insulted,

But all she gave a smile,

When I looked her way.

One cozy day, I kept my query,

Instead of working as a maid all, she was being bullied.

Isn't there a way to leave this home,

Rest in the garden like a mom's womb.

"We are women we have to face this hell,

No wonder what's going in,

You have to fulfill the responsibility of your shell."

But that's not what we are taught at school,

All genders are equal that's where everyone rules.

I can't handle the tears on your cheeks,

Which wept out when everyone's sleep.

But, said mom "that's what the reality we have to go through,

Whether by your yes or not

You have to follow the rule".
