Independence day is celebrated on August 15,

But before that, the British ruled us cruel and mean.

It all started when they entered the border, 

From that day we had to follow every rule and order.

The struggle had started centuries ago,

They plundered our wealth and made us bow down low.

The British made Pakistan and India separate,

That's what brought war and hate.

All the Indians came together with power and wisdom.

Because they wanted India with freedom.

In 1947 India got its independence,

All because of the Indian's courage and defence!
