Mahadev Himself is the Start as Well As The End 

Mahadev Provides Salvation as well does Destruction

Mahadev Is The Goal Himself and Provides Correct Path To It 

Mahadev is only The Light and He Himself is the Darkness

Lord Shiva is the Ancestor of The Whole Universe

When there was nothing, neither the whole Universe,

Neither the Three Divine Gods called TriDev in which 

MahaDev Himself known as Maheshwara.

MahaDev Is So Great and So Selfless that He always thinks of Others whatever may the situation be

When comes the Churning of The Huge Ocean when Goddess Lakshmi got lost in it 

When she was living in Vaikunth along with Lord Vishnu and with the help of Snake Vasuki which stays on the neck of Lord Shiva

The Ocean was being Churned with the help of all Gods called Divas and Demons called Asurs

There came out of the Ocean Huge Pot Of Poison which was harmful for even Gods and Goddesses could have taken anyone's lives on the Earth if one drop of it was even misused 

Thinking about whole of His Earth, Lord Shiva Drank whole of the Huge Pot Of Poison without thinking of Him which no one else could have done present over there

Which was even very much painful for Lord Shiva as it is Poison and has no cure of it no medicine is found for it 

Mahadev after drinking made His Throat Blue and Mata Parvati chanted Mantras to Make it Stay in His Throat which made him Neelkanth.
