Book of my Years

As I now take a glimpse at the book of my years

It brings up such laughter

Drums up such tears

I was only glancing through it yesterday

Plenty to ponder 

Plenty to say

I flick through the chapters

One by one

A lot of it tragic

A lot of it fun

Friends

Family

Children

My wife 

The book of years is really my life

The whole situation

All I've been through

It's all written down

Every word true

It speaks of the good times

Tells of the bad

Some of it happy

Some of it sad

Times I was lucky

Times I was cursed

Times I was last

Times I was first

Acting

Singing 

Inventing and more

Bipolar illness slamming the door

Now is the time to get back on my feet

This time I'll make it

No room for defeat

Can only get better

I've tasted the worst

There were times I've been blessed and times I've been cursed

Times I was weak

Times I've been been strong

Times I was right

Times I was wrong

There's also a chapter about courage and fear

This part of the story is finally here

It tells of my joy

Speaks of my sorrow

The very best part will be written tomorrow

Keep your eyes open 

Keep listening too

Life brought it to me so I'll bring it to you

I'll start writing more where I left off before

I've opened the book to write in it once more
