The Light

Perhaps it is our darkness that leads us towards the light

Myself, it happens to me when I raise my pen to write 

Freedom settles over me 

My eyes can finally see

The emptiness and loneliness somehow cease to be

Suffering 

Sorrow 

Misery and pain

Like magic they just disappear 

Not one of them remain

At the core of inner spirit 

Deep within my soul

I sense that I'm awakening 

and now becoming whole

From the bottom of my beating heart

This much I declare 

The morning sun is on the rise,

no longer in despair 

Each new word I've written, brings forth clarity

It frees my inner child

Restores the faith in me

Suddenly I realize 

No longer am I cursed

Life from here gets better it cannot get much worse

The same way, every new day is preceded by the night

Perhaps it is our darkness that leads us towards the light
