The dance floor is filled
Guys with leather jackets and slick hair
And girls with short skirts and perfume
The lights on and off
The music loud to blast the walls
Booming within the grounds
That has failed to hold my attention
For all awhile I wait for one to appear
Ask me who, all I answer
I don’t know yet!
The air with vibe has no appeal
For all I want is the presence
Of the person that holds me dear, I hope,
For this is where we start,
I close my eyes, silence to be wished
All is in slow now
An air of familiarity I feel
I wait…for what I don’t know, suddenly
Long hands warp around my waist
Like grape vines that curl around-
The support that keeps them growing

I bask in his presence
To keep my soul alive for
I had been a shell with only its body
And the missing soul god knows how

Me who was entranced by the very
Abyss that has trapped me yet
