Booming hope
Booming hope
The dance floor is filled
Guys with leather jackets and slick hair
And girls with short skirts and perfume
The lights on and off
The music loud to blast the walls
Booming within the grounds
That has failed to hold my attention
For all awhile I wait for one to appear
Ask me who, all I answer
I don’t know yet!
The air with vibe has no appeal
For all I want is the presence
Of the person that holds me dear, I hope,
For this is where we start,
I close my eyes, silence to be wished
All is in slow now
An air of familiarity I feel
I wait…for what I don’t know, suddenly
Long hands warp around my waist
Like grape vines that curl around-
The support that keeps them growing
His hands, my safe place, somewhere I
will never hesitate to be,
I bask in his presence
To keep my soul alive for
I had been a shell with only its body
And the missing soul god knows how
He took it…or
Maybe given to him by
Me who was entranced by the very
Abyss that has trapped me yet
Failed to suffocate me
For all I know
I have missed this…
Being held like a treasure to be adorned -
No one has ever found
Yet again like a jade none knows to polish
Cause the perfect tool that is to carve
Me is within his grasp
For I know he will adore me
Whether I shine or am a rag
Found on streets after heavy drought.
I open my eyes to his blue ones
Locked within each other’s
Our gazes speak more than our lips
Inches away from having a passionate reunion
Standing for minutes to hours
We hold hands and reminisce
Our past filled with memories
That paved the future we have now
I miss him, I say
He opens his mouth
I hear no sound
Suddenly, he vanishes, like the rainbow
After a rain during the hot summer
Taking with him all the traces
That for all this time…he never was here
For all was in my mind
The reality that has no place for him
But still I wait
Knowing one day he will return
To me, his home, like he is mine.
I hear the sounds come back
All dancing to the beats
The lights on and off
The music loud to blast the walls.
