Climate Change – A Phenomenon

There once lived SEASONS- Winter, Summer, Autumn, Spring and Rain.

They had their scheduled visits,

To their preferred kingdom from the vast empire called ‘Earth’.

They were awaited and welcomed there,

Their empire flourished, years after years,

But, their downfall was inevitable.

Their new invader - the man's created 'Global warming' 

was rising into power.

Its influence changed everything in a short span indeed.

It interfered in their return, blocked their path in every horizon.

Summer, however, was lured by her enemy in disguise,

As they had a common interest,

She stayed longer on Earth and forgot to return.

This outraged her sisters- the other Seasons.

A long war between the two prevailed,

Both trying to subdue one-another.

’No life on earth will sustain if we are driven away', proclaimed Seasons.

The war - the fight for existence continued

Seasons fought with all their might

Winter decided to take a lead

It dropped its weapon- TEMPERATURE

Cold wind waves ran across

Giving a chill to every living cell

Man on the earth regrettably exclaimed

What a wonderful season has come!

But, it succumbed to the chemical weapons of its man-made enemy.

Alas! The scorching heatwave spread on the Earth,

Melting down even the hardest ice saturated for years,

Summer stayed, drove winter away,

It was Hot again!

Man only wondered, ‘Why Winter didn’t wait longer than usual’.
