My granddaughter has no time, every time she thinks,

The cell phone next to her blinks

She is very whole day around,

She has no food, no sleep so sound.

She sometimes happy, sometimes mad,

She doesn’t meet many friends, she had.

I don’t find her reading any book,

She clicks a selfie and experiments with her look.

Her room is a showroom of gadgets all kind,

Oh! I wonder when she uses her mind.

All her doubts are solved by Google,

When hungry, she grabs ‘ready to eat’ noodle.

She often spends time, humming a song,

Her music player has a cord very long.

Now-a-days, she doesn’t have anything to share,

She often fails to realize her grandma’s care.

My house is full of shining goods so heavy,

With a warning, ‘Do not touch’, if you aren’t techno-savvy’

She shops online, on an Amazon, Flipcart, and Quickr,

She expresses herself only on Facebook and Twitter.

An ‘Apple’ of today is not edible anyway,

Thank you Steve, for the Jobs we need not say.

My joint pain now, a massager cures,

It has a brand name, ‘Digitally yours’.

Last night, I found my granddaughter write,

I looked at her with a horrifying fright.

She had an assignment which made her think,

At the far end of her table, I saw her cell phone blink
