Dear Best Friend

I treasure every moment I spend with you

And, I know not, when as a bird time flew

I met you one year back in the month of July,

And, from then on, it was you on whom I could rely

We shared our immature secrets in all seasons

That we are best friends, was our only reason 

The closer we came,

The stronger our bond became

You laughed at my silly jokes, I at your crush

But, the saddest part is, we both were simply making a fuss

You tried to possess me and so did I

But, a person like you, how can I buy?

You are more like a sister to me, my counterpart

There is only one thing, that to me, you have to assert

Even if days, months, years pass by

Even if you have a life full of sadness and cry

Promise to leave a space for me in your heart

Just your smile is enough and I will never part

My encounter with you taught me a great lesson in life

And because of this lesson, I gained the power to thrive

I started to love, trust people once more

It was all because of you for sure
