Dear Sir.... From A Mother

Dear Sir.... From A Mother

Biased, discriminative, you call me stereotypical

For I killed her, for I never let her take birth

Well, you may be right in the eyes of the law,

- I murdered her, but dear shallow minded fellow

Look deeper for a day after she turns thirteen

You will buy her for pennies,

You will rape her for pleasure,

You will abuse her to uplift your dignity.

Gentlemen, this not my knowledge, rather my experience.

This is not my mind rather my heart

For I have been through your dominance

She fights the injustices in the school,

With elan and confidence,

You accuse her for her girly traits,

Then use her for her priceless face.

Oh!

When I think about it, the curt words, the brutal thrashing

All of it, it seeps into me and the pain engulfs me.

The prodigious books, my college degree

Remind me of the brusque cheap ruffians.

Who treated me as the bait

And my salary as their feast.

I have traveled beyond the places,

An airplane can take me

Just to see whether I were the only victim

But I realized that your uncouth community is far-flung

For there were wet eyes demanding justice

And gloomy faces desperate for answers

Life has never offered me happiness

And dimples have never dug my cheeks.

I'm bashful and timid, quiet and wary and

This is not what I aspire to be,

This is not what I want to be

This what you, your words

And your heavy hands have made me

Sir,

You robust and strong, I frail and fragile

But today I give my statement

I am not delinquent for the pills I took
For I cannot see my daughter cry

For people such as you
