Down the Memory Lane
Down the Memory Lane
Below the open sky, beside the clear river
Those little feet chased each other
The miniature footprints laughed at me
"We were merrier, blithe and carefree. "
Kissing the heaven high in the rope swings
Those little birds unfurled their wings
I shed a drop from the corner of my eye
Again the swing chuckled at my sigh.
The branch crackled as tiny fingers wound around
To and fro dangled the frame as the
Wind agitated with a whooshing sound
I turned my back- visage with a frown.
Yet again those branches tittered at me.
My limbs gave way, my palms cupped my face,
The forever lost childhood bids adieu with an embrace...
