Fade Away!
Fade Away!
Up high on the hills I lie
With eyes open wide
And grieves aside
The night pities its son
Whose soul hath grown numb
And the least of not spiritually dumb,
Stare at the stars with eyes
Which the luster of life belies.
Dancing to their wink
Is the blood in my veins?
Swinging and shaking to let all those sink
Amidst a thousand holy reins.
The ‘those’ I call the memories of thee
Or dare I call them those of we
Weaving together a million dreams,
Of a life prettier than all mystical streams
Let them sink
All but in the time of a blink
Deep down
And with the least frown
Fade may thee
Into an abyss so deep and wee
That of the rare amnesiac lee!
