Father, Me, And My Son
Father, Me, And My Son
My father is an old man
He is now eighty years old
To walk even a few steps
He needs a stick to hold
Whenever I have to say something
I have to say in a loud voice
As he is hard of hearing
I have to say it twice or thrice
In the winter when I go out
He says “wear proper clothes, take care
It’s very chilly outside
Take a hat and cover your hair”
When I do some business deal
He says “ you are not doing it properly
If I was with you at that time
You may have saved some money “
He thinks I am not so wise
And I am not much clever
And people take advantage of me
Be it my friends or whosoever
When I recommend some medicine for cough
He says “ I will take just a spoon of honey
When I order something online
He says “you are just waiting money
Sometimes I think I am quite intelligent
And I should tell my dad
And then I just don’t say this
As he may feel bad
Yesterday I turned fifty
But I am young at heart
My business is doing quite well
For my age I am quite smart
My son ordered a pizza at night
I said “it's not good for health
When I was paying the pizza boy
I said “ son, you are wasting my wealth “
In my birthday party I was dancing
And when I tried a step bold
I fumbled, my son gave me a chair
Said ” papa, take care, now you are old “
This is all part of life
And not a father-son fight
This is just a generation gap
And now I think my father may be right
