Finding Lost Love
Finding Lost Love
Often, I lose the verbs
and stumble upon nouns.
That’s when my readers
Leave my pages
And put me down.
Adjectives pester me all the while
and adverbs whirl around.
Verbs are my love.
Energetic as they are,
And always on the move.
They’re my treasure trove.
Finding lost love is not easy,
Like dewdrop on a daisy.
You’ve got to start at dawn
And be after it like crazy.
Once you’ve won
Your job’s done.
Your readers are back
And you’re on track.
Love your verbs,
But don’t shun the nouns.
Welcome the pronouns,
And they’ll will not frown.
Writing is easy
If you follow the rule.
Don’t keep it for later,
Start early at school!
