Friends And Second Chances

Not all scars show,

Not all wounds heal

Sometimes you can’t see the pain your friend feels

That is a loss when you lose your friend,

Hoping for the best until the very end

 

Maybe you want to give second chances in life

People make mistakes and that is fine

Find it in your heart to be forgiving

Despite the hurt you have been receiving

 

Maybe you don’t want to and that is okay

For the wound has cut in too deep

That’s not selfish and you’ll live another day

Do what’s best for you and it’s going to be steep

 

Why endure when you’re not at ease

There are limits to being kind

It’s because of the memories

The happiness outweighs the mind

 

The times spent, the experiences shared

How do we throw it all away?

We try so hard to forget

But it will forever be here to stay

 

What I learnt is to never force yourself

The harder you try, the harder it is to let go

Instead, embrace it and time will pass itself

After all, “Forget what hurt you, but never forget what it taught you” right?
