Given Up
Given Up
The thirst for the whimsical water
Lessens to vapor in the air
From the dam of the eyes, the tears burst
And we watch it happen with no care
The surrounding grows hot
With every Fahrenheit
While our hearts grow cold
With every pale, drained, crimson painted
Body dead In the night
The fire screams in anger and roars
And the forest welcomes it home
The blood boils
At the thought of suffering alone
We watch the screen
And gasp and say
"Damn this world!"
And how it has turned grey
But irony appears to pop up
That we took the Colors out
Sapphire blue and emerald green
And gave the canvas its image to be
So while we pray
Striving for green pieces of paper
The truth is here to stay
And to hide, we kill our neighbors
We are impatiently waiting
For someone to save us
But even they above
Have given up
Even they above have given up
