Gods only Son

There once came a man from Galilee some two thousand years ago

He taught of a new way of living 

A life we need all come to know

He gathered disciples by the seashore 

Taught them to be fishers of men

He then created a new law to add to the commandments of ten

Love your neighbor as you love yourself that's what we all need do

Remember its true although practiced by few, it was for all humanity too

Now with his twelve new apostles, he was armed for his quest to spread the truth

He went into the lands, to sing a new song and offer God's people some proof

He healed many sick and raised up the dead

Fed all the hungry with one loaf of bread

Taught more and more of the truth about life and his fame continued to rise

Those who believed began to realize his message was certainly wise

He was taken away and put to his death

Whipped and then nailed to a tree

He gave his own life as he hung on the cross so the souls of mankind might be free

The person I speak of was more than a man, he was air to a heavenly throne

There were gospels written about him

His message began to be known

If you live by the words that were written then the true will of God you have done

Practice these teachings in your daily life

For in truth, he was God's only son
