His Predicament
His Predicament
He found himself caught in a predicament if to accompany
His brothers on their quest to conquer the waters, the vast spread oceans
Or to abide by the existing lands and their riches.
Wasn't it such an absurd thing to do, he wondered?
Leaving the comforts of the lands around, the luxuries it yielded
To dive into the unknowingness of the oceans,
The enigmatic waters with their peculiar woes.
He had never found himself drawn to those adventures,
Lured into the depths of oceans which held nothing but thousands of questions,
Nor did he deem himself to be Magellan who thrived in those deep seas
And even perished in those waters. He often wondered if
It was only the risks you took which made you a man of great substance
Or was it who you chose to be, without flaunting your supposed achievements
And without daunting those around, that made you a great man.
Call him a coward, a timid person, he never really abandoned his lands
For the depths of the oceans. And yet, when he found his brothers
Ready to invade those oceans, he found himself caught in that predicament.
