I Wonder

The world would be so much

To live

Only if things were good.

Everyone would laugh and play

Only if they could change their ways and understanding.

I sat still and wondered

Why did I grow up?

Only if I could stay as a child again

Life would be only fun and play.

That little old man and that little old woman

Sat alone and saw them grow,

Only if they stayed , heard us

We would not have to leave and go.

The little girl walked alone

Looking here and looking there

Only If someone was here

Who would make me feel safe and care?

Only If I could fly

I could even touch the sky.

Only if I could run

Away from all, it would be fun.

Only if I had stayed

There would be so much to talk about, so much to say.

We have all we need

But there is something amiss,

We all have our thoughts

We all have a wish.

But we do not enjoy,

We do not live

What troubles us is

Only If.
