Abstract Tragedy

If It Ever Finds You

If It Ever Finds You

The last episode of your favorite series

The closing ceremony of your special event

The ending note of your fond symphony

The final decay of your cherished blossom

The only drop of your chosen fragrance

The parting words of your best-loved person

The inevitable funeral of an eventful phase

All converge towards

A dark road of brooding gloom

Whereupon my feet

Follow feeling familiarity-

A road that once

Carried my hopes along

Now has yielded

Both light and warmth

To sickening silence

Of some foreign land

A heart drenched in sadness

And eyes

Like an overflown dam

Shine of steady streamy saline rivulets

Leaving their trails

On a barren face

Burning with flames of separation

Inhaling deep sighs

Releasing deep, inflated mouthfuls

Of suffocating air

For strength and diversion from

Feeling nauseous

For not being able

To swallow events

Reeking pain and despair

Unfinished feeble utterances

Swaying in waves

Of trembling voice

To call off the verdict

She so placidly

Thrust upon my understanding

A storm in my head

An aching in my heart

A bottle of pain

And a night to gulp

And with every night passing

The bottle refills

Only to be emptied

For another refill

Wept in volumes

And wept I alone

In melancholic mood

And moment of grief

And walked

And halted

And walked

I treaded the same road

Did all the same too

Yet it stopped returning me you

Oh, Dearest! Come back to me

I can't see you no more

Your being in vicinity was a luxury

I possess no more.
